Primary target groups for the academy

- Leaders and movers within the main political parties (and other organisations pursuing similar political goals), in particular:
- Candidates (for elections at national, provincial and local levels); a target group of a total of 4000 people (40% of local government candidates are youths)
- Young people that have been involved in Liberal Youth Guild (LYG) programmes; a target group of 1000 people (the above figures constitute the maximum number; realistically and initially one could hope to include perhaps one-tenth of the respective number given above)
- Persons both interested in and involved in policy development (number not ascertainable as yet)
- Media personnel interested in the “centre ground” of politics

It must be borne in mind that the majority of the target group are not academics but people from various walks of life seeking skills to help them perform their respective roles as leaders or “movers” successfully
